Our ongoing consultation

Mu is currently carrying out its 5-yearly consultation, an effort to seek opinions and perspectives on a range of topics relevant to MAPs.

When the consultation is complete, Mu will publish a range of position statements (we are planning on over 10 of them) intended to reflect points of general consensus in the community. In some cases, Mu will publish position statements representing compromise positions on less controversial topics. Statements will be followed by deeper analysis of the topics themselves, and the differing perspectives in our community.

The consultation will help Mu decide on its basic principles and priorities for the forthcoming 5-year period, and each period after that.

Just as a taster, we already know that Mu will be publishing position statements on the following topics:

Visibility:

  • Present language-development
  • An informal MAP-Paraphile Alliance
  • Trans Identity

Equality:

  • The MAP Identity in Education
  • Mental Health

Youth:

  • Online Harms
  • Youth Rights
