This article discusses a controversial pro-reform essay and concept titled The Push, introduced on YesMAP Wiki by BLueRibbon in May 2024.

Foreword (Percy Shelley)
When Brian Ribbon returned to the MAP activist community in 2024 after a 14-year-long hiatus, his first piece entitled The Push generated a lot of controversy. It was intended as a warning that MAPs, facing all the various pressures arrayed against us, might act out of desperation in ways that hurt themselves and others. The essay was written from a place of frustration over trag...

Earlier this month, I wrote an article focusing on the need for greater tolerance within our own community. I discussed various points of contention, such as alliances with other paraphiles, contact stances, and generational differences. The article generated a fair amount of criticism, which was inevitable. Let's consider some of the issues raised.
Identity politics within the community
One of the main criticisms in response to my article was my focus on identity politics, in particular the discussion of 'woke' ideology. Personally, I would not describe myself as 'woke...

Much of my writing on MAP issues is focused outward, looking at how horribly the world treats us. Given the shocking extent of misunderstanding, oppression, murder, and all the other nastiness, this is hardly surprising. However, sometimes it's important to look inward. In a recent essay on Newgon Wiki, I asked MAPs why our community is so apathetic. In this relatively brief article, I will be discussing ways in which we need to chill.
Contact stances

One of the major divides in the MAP community is 'pro-choice' (or pro-contact) versus 'anti-contact...

Pro-Reform is a framework arguing that cautious legal reforms are needed to offer greater rights and protections to MAPs and Youth. The framework being proposed is a personal position and not necessarily agreed upon by all members of Mu.
Pro-reformists are moderate and rational MAP activists who advocate reasonable and balanced changes to how MAPs are treated without endangering minors. We recently discussed how to protect children and teenagers from sexual harm while respecting the agency of people who are mature enough to give properly informed consent. In this article, we will explore the social changes needed to create a more harmon...

This article was published in October 2024. At the time, the authors were not aware of Mr. Prosper's horrific plan to attack a school. As MAPs who are romantically attracted to young people in much the same way that 'normal' adults are attracted to other adults, we can't fathom how Mr. Prosper could possibly have chosen to target a school. In this instance, we are very thankful to the police for preventing such an awful atrocity.

Pro-Reform is a framework arguing that cautious legal reforms are needed to offer greater rights and protections to MAPs and Youth. The framework being proposed is a personal position and not necessarily agreed upon by all members of Mu.
The pro-reform position is focused on maintaining a balance of freedoms, responsibilities and protections for MAPs and young people. Obviously, one of the most contentious issues is AMSC (Adult-Minor Sexual Contact). Almost always viewed through the negative lens of child sex abuse, legal definitions of what constitutes criminal sexual contact are highly arbitrary and vary significantly around the world....

Pro-Reform is a framework arguing that cautious legal reforms are needed to offer greater rights and protections to MAPs and Youth. The framework is endorsed by myself as an individual, and the opinions expressed here are not necessarily agreed upon by all members of Mu.
Going forward, my editorials will feature discussions on MAPs, Youth, AMSC, PIM, and what I call 'The Push', where left-behind/ostracized MAPs might become a risk for criminality, violence or extremism. All of my writings will ultimately be underpinned by my pro-reform framework and consent philosophy.
